Killstraight returns / Johnny D. Boggs.

Boggs, Johnny D., (author.).

Summary:

Forced to learn the Pale Eyes ways at a Pennsylvania boarding school, Daniel Killstraight, has never fit in with many Comanches. His mother was a Mescalero Apache, his father a Kwahadi warrior, and working as a tribal policeman doesn't make him popular among The People. Now Daniel finds himself in the middle of another fight. As Congress tries to dismantle the reservation system and open up the country to white settlers, Comanche chief Quanah Parker attempts to negotiate the best possible deal-which divides the tribe. Into this maelstrom comes Colonel Titus Wheeler, who has published dime novels featuring one Daniel Killstraight-unbeknownst to Daniel-and hires several Comanches for a Wild West show. That takes Daniel and others away from a smallpox outbreak on the reservation-until the Comanches are blamed when the terrible disease breaks out in Albany, Texas. After an old Army scout is murdered, Daniel is put to the test to save himself and his people from angry Texans and a deadly disease. Provided by publisher.
